More and more gua bao are on the menu at our favorite Asian restaurants. However, this recipe is nothing new, it is even an ancestral recipe! It is terribly greedy and should be discovered as soon as possible if it has not already been done.
Bao means “bread”, they are also called “lotus flower” breads. These are very easy muffins to make, but they do require a little waiting time. Originally, this dish was called “the tiger bites the lion” (hu yao shi) prepares wedding banquets. But you don’t need to find the one you love here to try this amazingly delicious dish! As part of an Asian meal or as an aperitif for dinner, they will have the best effect. For vegetarians, discover the delicious steamed dumplings!

Chicken Gua Bao Recipe
For 6 people
Preparation time: 20 minutes
break: 2:30 a.m

Ingredients:
For the bread:
– 450 g of flour
– 2 BOXES of sugar
– 1 tsp salt
– 20 g of fresh yeast
– 3 CUPS of milk
– 210 ml of lukewarm water
– 30 g of melted butter
– 1 BOX olive oil
For the chicken:
– 10 cl soy sauce
– 2 Cassia sesame seeds
– 2 chicken breasts
For garnish:
– 1/2 cucumber
– 30 g of mixed salad
– 1 CAS sesame
– A few sprigs of coriander

1. Put the flour, yeast, sugar and salt in a bowl, being careful that the salt does not touch the yeast.

2. Pour in the milk, lukewarm water and melted butter. Knead for at least 10 minutes: the dough should no longer be sticky. Brush the dough with olive oil, then cover with a clean towel and leave to rest for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

3. During this time, marinate the chicken in the soy sauce and sesame seeds. Nice book.

4. After 1h30, the dough should have doubled in size. Degas it with your fist, then divide it into 20 equal parts. To help you, each ball should weigh about 37g.

5. Roll each ball with a rolling pin and spread a little olive oil on top.

6. Add a piece of baking paper to cover half the dough.

7. Fold the dough onto baking paper.

8. Leave to swell for one hour. Then steam for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, cook the chicken and shred it with a fork.

9. Garnish the gua bao with lettuce, cucumber, cilantro, some spring roll sauce and chicken.
